The CoolVans are the newest additions to the fleet.
They are one of a kind. Not two CoolVans look alike.
The CoolVans come with four seat belts, which makes them the vehicle between a regular boring rental car and a fancy campervan.
Rent a tent with a CoolVan and you have an easy inexpensive but very fun way to travel with four adults or a family of four.
The CoolVans are certainly unique, and are very easy to find on any parking lot. Simply look for the people taking a picture of a van.
Because of the unique paint jobs these vehicles get the right amount of attention. Stealing a CoolVan makes no sense for a thief. Breaking into a CoolVan undetected is next to impossible, since people love them and pay attention to them.
Our recommendation: Two adults.

For all offered motorhomes you do not need a special driver's license or endorsement. Your valid car driver's license is fully accepted.

The CoolVans are Chevrolet Astro Vans built in 2002-2005
Starting May 2009 the vehicles got transformed into campervans.
Specs: 3.8 liter 6-cylinder-gas-engine with automatic transmission, air condition, power steering. stereo with iPod / MP3-input. Gas consumption: rouughly 11 liters per 100 kilometers = 22 mpg (miles per gallon) = 4.5 gallons per 100 miles = 17 liiter per 100 miles
Size of the bed: 150 cm x 200 cm (59 in x 79 in)
Number of safety belts: 4
Length of the vehicle: 4.80 m (just inches short of 16 ft.)
Vehicle width: 197 cm (6 ft. 6 in.)
Vehicle height: 190 cm (6 ft. 5 in.)

You will receive on pick up day all the bedding and camping gear you will need to travel with this vehicle, including a two burner stove, a sink, an electric cooler (12 Volts and 110 Volts), pots and pans, camping chairs and much more.

A pick up and drop off in Las Vegas, Nevada or San Francisco, California is possible with a surcharge

The rental stations are closed on January 1st, Memorial Day (last Monday in May), July 4th, Labor Day (first Monday in September), Thanksgiving Day (fourth Thursday in November), December 25th

Rental Rates:
 The rental rates depend on the rental duration. The longer you rent, the lower the daily rental rate gets.

Calculation of rental rate:
 The day of pick up and drop off gets counted as one day in total not one day each.
If CoolVan gets dropped off after 10:00 AM, the charge for an additional day applies.
The rental rate gets pro-rated.

Drop off in San Francisco on July 1st 2011 at 9:00 AM
Two drivers over 25 years of age

April 1 - May 31, 2011: daily rental rate $55.00 - that means 5 days x $55.00 for the days in May
